FREE Kidscape 'ZAP in Schools' Programme

Posted: Wed, 23 Jan 2019 13:14

Kidscape are the UK's longest running anti-bullying charity. They are offering schools the opportunity to take part in a free 'ZAP in Schools' programme, supporting children from a young age to recognise bullying behaviour, and have the skills to deal with it. For many years they have delivered their ZAP programme to children and families in the community and now want to reach many more children through their new ZAP in Schools programme.

This is delivered through a school assembly and 2 hour workshops aimed at children in years 5 and 6. Children who participate in the programme will:

  • Understand what bullying behaviour is (including the difference between teasing, friendship fall-outs and bullying),
  • Have a range of Kidscape ZAP tools to deal with bullying behaviour (e.g. understanding assertive behaviour, the power of voice and posture, fogging)
  • Know who to ask for help if they or others are being bullied
