Leicestershire County Council has been successfully supporting schools to achieve our 'Beyond Bullying' award since it's initial pilot in 2010. This accreditation is a great way for schools to demonstrate and gain recognition for the positive and proactive work they do around preventing and tackling bullying and creating a happy, inclusive school environment for young people.
The award process takes an academic year to complete (September to June) and schools taking part are required to collate evidence around 6 different areas, for example, staff professional development, pupil voice, leadership and policy development. Each school will work closely with a member of the Anti-Bullying Team during the year and will receive support and guidance on completing the process.
Schools can choose whether to aim for bronze, silver or gold standard, depending on where they feel they are with their practice and where they feel they can realistically aim within that year.
When awarded with the Beyond Bullying Award, your school will receive:
- A Beyond Bullying Certificate (digital copy)
- Use of the Beyond Bullying logo (bronze, silver or gold) for 3 years
- Feedback and action points to support continuous development when it is time to renew.
Registration for 2024-25 has now closed.
If you are interested in registering for the Beyond Bullying Award 2025-26, then please email beyondbullying@leics.gov.uk. We will add your school to the waiting list and let you know when registration is open.
The cost per school for the year remains at £550 and you will be invoiced in the Autumn term.
These are some of the things previous award schools have had to say about the award:

We've had a lot of fun whilst promoting a serious topic!
Thank you for your support...we will definitely keep up the work and aim for silver next year.
