Analysis of the Pupil/Student Attitude Surveys from 2007/2008

The attitude survey for Leicestershire pupils has been facilitated by Children & Young People Services (CYPS) for many years. There are currently three survey formats: Pupil, (for Primary schools), Student (for Secondary schools) and the Special Schools survey. Each format has questions that align with the 5 outcomes of the Every Child Matters agenda.
The questions on each survey do differ as they were devised to be age appropriate. All questions (bar a couple), are phrased as positive statements which the pupils are asked to rate, the choices being ‘agree a lot’; ‘agree’; ‘disagree’; and ‘disagree a lot’.
The survey is optional and is paid for by schools. In total, 184 schools and 32,806 pupils participated in this year’s survey, compared to 199 schools and 39,166 pupils last year.

The questions below are those that relate directly to bullying.
